The STEM Gender Gap
There is a lack of women in STEM fields. According to a 2017 report by the United Nations, women globally represented only 35% of those studying a STEM related field in higher education. In addition, only 28% of the world's researchers were female. Many sources reach a consensus on females composing only 18% of the graduates with computer science degrees. Also, many STEM jobs go unfilled due to the lack of people able to fill them.
Join us on the journey of closing the gender gap by bashing gender stereotypes, showing female STEM role models, and engaging youth with fun and interesting experiments.
